My next Featured Seller is Susan Hoerth, hailing from McAllen, Texas. I ran across her Etsy shop today while searching for Unusual things. It was her Altered Books that captured my imagination. The following is information from her shop profile:

"Collecting bits and pieces from my travels around the world and assembling them into a fine art collection of Curios, is my passion. I have an eye for collecting vintage items to retell stories of the past, bring new life and preserving memories. Each piece that I design includes a mixture of the discarded, and forgotten ordinary moments in everyday life. As of late I have had an obsession with restoring and creating pieces of art with antique books that have been discarded. 

"If you have a favorite book that you would like sculpted, I do consignments. The book should be old and unusable as a book, and have a few illustrations in it. I am open to style and prices are flexible. It is with great pleasure and humility that I present IlzesCreations as my first featured artisan. Ilze is from Riga, Latvia and recently featured me in her blog. She uses a variety of techniques for a variety of crafts. Ilze makes hats, socks, shawls, and jewelry using felting, embroidery, sewing, crochet, and knitting techniques. She opened her shop in April of 2011, and it has matured greatly just in the short time since I first met her.
